Database Systems and Information Management

The Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) group at the Technische Universität Berlin includes 15 researchers. The group conducts research in the management and optimal processing of large-scale (semi-) structured data and huge collections of unstructured documents. This involves exploring systems, architectural designs, and their implementation to enable information management on the web-scale. In order to meet this grand challenge, we will need innovative solutions that address each step in the Information Management Lifecycle. These steps include information modelling, information extraction, data cleansing, integration of heterogeneous data sources, efficient query processing, archiving, and retention management.
