Presentation of ROBUST at WWW 2012 in Lyon

The ROBUST consortium has sponsored the 21st World Wide Web conference in Lyon and used the occasion to present the project, its setting, latest results and show a first demo of the ROBUST platform. The World Wide Web conference is the major event in the field of research and developments in the context of the Web. It took place in Lyon from April 16th until April 20th and attracted nearly 2,000 visitors.

In the exhibition area ROBUST was represented at booth D50. Visitors were given an overview of the project, its objectives and the use cases. Flyers summarized the project and contained a link to the project website. Large poster displayes presented results and promoted the Virtual Center of Excellence on Online Communities. Especially the lively coffee and lunch breaks between the keynotes and technical presentations were a good occasion for discussions with interested attendees of the conference.

The demo attracted many users curious about how to manage risks and opportunities in online communities. The online application presented an integrated view of the Risk Dashboard provided by the University of Southampton, the graphic equalizer developed by Polecat and various prediction and analysis services implemented by other partners. The demo showed the flexible and distributed integration of components running live on servers at our integration partner Software Mind in Poland and using service deployments at NUIG in Ireland.
